The five metropolitan areas permitted include Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. The national (ABC and SBS) and commercial radio broadcasters in these places officially started digital broadcasting on July 1, 2009.
Most broadcasters currently offer "simultaneous" services for their analog radio services on the DAB+ platform. Most commercial broadcasters offer digital radio services. You can find out more about the specific DAB+
digital audio broadcasting system services they offer on each broadcaster's website. You can also get a complete list of all digital services in the licensed area on the Digital Radio Plus website.
